Charlton Toy Library is a fun, stimulating and safe place. It provides families with a place to come and meet other parents, play with their children or get advice from our very experienced members of staff. We serve hundreds of families in and around the borough. We are open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and one Saturday a month (9:30-12:30) during term time.
Toy Service
Our toy selection is fantastic with age ranges from 0 up to 5 on selected toys. We have a wide range of story-sacks, special needs toys, baby toys, games and puzzles, dressing up and many more. Find out how to borrow.
Books
We have an extensive range of children books and also adult books covering all aspects of childcare, health, meal planning, disabilities and many more topics. Find out how to borrow.
Outreach Service
We run a much-needed Outreach Service to disadvantaged families across the borough. This service provides support and advice to parents & carers, and supplies toys, books, games and child safety equipment completely free of charge to families who cannot afford them. Stay and Play Sessions
We have a lovely play area for children and their carers to come play and socialise (open 9:30-12:30). Every time when we are open, we have a special activity at 10:30 a.m. run by our volunteers:
- On Tuesdays we have singing with June,
- On Thursdays we have a rhyme-time and sensory session with Vicky and Helen, and
- On Fridays we have a singing session with Susan (with guitar and shakers). All sessions are free of charge for Charlton Toy Library members.
PLEASE NOTE THAT DUE TO FIRE EXIT RESTRICTIONS WE CANNOT HAVE PRAMS & BUGGIES INSIDE THE TOY LIBRARY.
Other Events
From Easter and Christmas parties to Pamper evenings and nearly new sales, we organise a variety of events ourselves to help raise much-needed funds for the Toy Library.
