On Friday 11 July we were delighted to bring members, volunteers, and supporters together for our Annual General Meeting – and to mark six months since moving into our wonderful new home at Langhorne House.
Our AGM is an important moment in our year, giving us a chance to reflect, share updates, and thank everyone who helps keep Charlton Toy Library running. It was lovely to see so many familiar faces enjoying our usual Stay & Play session, joining in with singing, and staying for party refreshments – and even some brilliant face painting.
In the meeting, John Stephens, our Chair, shared just how far we’ve come since last summer. Thanks to the tireless efforts of our small team of staff, trustees, and volunteers – and the support of our wider community – we are now happily settled at Langhorne House and looking ahead to what’s next.
Our Treasurer, Janine Khoshnevisan, then shared an update on our finances for the year. Janine explained how we’ve managed our costs carefully during a year of change, including our move.
We were also delighted to welcome new trustees to the board and thank those stepping down for their valuable contributions. A huge thank you to all our members who came along – we hope you enjoyed the morning.
Securing funding and raising awareness of our services remains a key priority for the year ahead. We’ve got lots of ideas and plans in the pipeline to help us grow, reach more families, and build on the great work already happening – and we look forward to sharing more with our members soon.
In the meantime, if you are interested in becoming a trustee or getting more involved through volunteering, you can find out more on our website or chat to one of the team next time you visit.
